Can You REALLY Run a 5 Mile Race?
The simple answer to that is YES!
Regardless of your age or current levels of fitness, there are many ways to prepare yourself both physically and mentally for the West Bergholt 5 mile race.
One of the easiest ways to start your journey towards a fitter you is to take part in a Park Run (5km) in your local area.
Needless to say, Colchester has it’s very own Park Run which starts in Castle Park every Saturday at 9 AM from the bandstand. Best of all, it’s completely free!
Many of the team responsible for the West Bergholt 5 mile race attend this run each week, and we can confirm that it will definitely increase the heart rate and have you reaching for a bottle of water at the finish line! (Yes you do have to run up THAT big hill!)
However, if you would prefer a more structured training schedule, Jogging Made Easy is the local running group that you need!
Founded by Trish Jarvis – UKA LiRF/CiRF, Endurance Event Group Coach L3 and YMCA personal trainer – Jogging Made Easy provides a wide variety of training programs and sessions that are designed to help you become a fitter person and a more competent and capable runner.
Training is provided in group sessions throughout the week, and 1 on 1 personal training is also available.
